The compact crossover has been redesigned for 2024 with new headlights and taillights, a larger screen, and a 13-horsepower boost.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB gets minor modifications, with subtle modifications to the exterior and a new interior design. The biggest change in the cabin is the standard 10.3-inch screen, which was part of the optional Premium package.
The AMG-tuned GLB250 and GLB35 get a 48-volt hybrid system that can generate an additional 13 horsepower under driving conditions. When the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB-Class arrives, it fills a niche between the compact GLA and GLC and is the smallest SUV on the market that offers a third row of seats, although it’s child-friendly.
For the 2024 model year, the GLB is getting a refresh, bringing minor styling changes and infotainment and electric power upgrades. Visually, not much has changed.
The front bumper and grille have been slightly revised while the headlights and taillights feature more pronounced LED graphics. The GLB adds a Spectral Blue Gold color option and new 18- and 20-inch wheels.
internal updates
Inside, the two 10.3-inch screens that are part of the Premium package are standard, a big upgrade over the 7.0-inch screen from the base 2023 model. The GLB runs Mercedes’ latest MBUX infotainment system and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless.
It takes advantage of an additional USB-C port and better USB charging capabilities.
Mercedes also offers other standard equipment, including an automatic high-speed system, a parking package that adds 360-degree visibility and a Nappa leather steering wheel. For the first time, the GLB offers power steering with the AMG Line package.
under the cover
The GLB’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine benefits from a 48-volt hybrid system, along with a cable-run supercharger that delivers an additional 13 horsepower in certain conditions to help accelerate and allow the vehicle to rev and the engine clear.
The design also makes for a smooth start/stop and receives power while braking to charge the 48V and 12V batteries. Peak power remains the same at 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
The Mercedes-AMG GLB35 sports car receives a similar revision for the 2024 model year, with new exterior lighting, an updated AMG Performance steering wheel and the same infotainment and connectivity features.
The 2.0-liter four-cylinder still makes 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and the 48-volt hybrid system adds 13 horsepower.
The AMG GLB35 can also be equipped with new wheel designs in 19 and 20 inches. The 2024 GLB-Class will hit showrooms later this year, and we expect a slight increase over the GLB2023’s base price of $40,950 and the GLB35’s $52,650 price.
